My brother-in-law who looks after my fish very well while I'm on holiday and has seen first hand how I take care of my tanks came back from the pet shop today with a 17L tank (no decor, just blue gravel), no dechlorinator, no heater and yep, three fish - a Redtail Black Shark, a Bala Shark and a Rainbowfish. To say I was speechless (and that's no joke for me!) is beyond an understatement...Evil or Very Mad

i find it hard to imagine a bala shark in a 17L

but hey i have two iridescents in a 30 L (i couldn't stop that because they were a gift Sad and the guy who gave them to me didn't know anything about how big they can get)

and your brother in law is still better than some cruel LFS owners who put 150 fish in a 150 litre tank (no exaggeration here) and there's almost no water left for them to swim in

Why don't people read up on stuff???????????????????????????
its always too late.

if I Was to buy a Tiger for instance. I Would find out how big it grows or how vicious they are what they eat.etc before buying.

as with Elvis I Knew he could grow to say 15inch before getting him.
on saying that the l.f.s would have let me come home with 6 of them.
without saying a word... fish - Fish Fail... Icon_silent

I think I may have got the point across to his wife today since the poor rainbowfish died/was killed overnight. I told her that having the two shark species in a 17L tank was akin to putting two puppies in a budgie cage. Just because they fit, doesn't mean they'll thrive. So I'm hoping they'll take them back and get a Betta instead. Rolling Eyes
