| Right I still have not even unboxed my tank, so today i decided to do so just to get an idea of look and size etc.. However when placing the hood on the top I noticed that at the back there is a small gap of around 1cm to 1.5cm is this meant to be there? Surely water would evaporate as I do not have a condensation tray. Secondly I noticed then when I lift the lid at the front of the tank there is a very small space to place fish food and I would struggle floating new fish while bagged this is due to the light taking up a large amount of space. yeah I have a Jinlong RHS 800 tank maybe its a warning for me to get rid and buy a different one | |

| yep same problem i lose quite a bit of water due to condensation i top up when i feel it has dropped down too far as for adding new fish i lift the lid up and lean it back on the wall (i have got external filter so dont use the drip system in the hood) the flap at the front of the hood lifts with enough of a gap to feed the fish but it is a 4 foot tank | |

| Ahhh my mobile phone camera works pretty well, As promised some snaps of my hood with how it came with the in hood filter - however I think an Extrenal would be better and 100 times easier to clean. Above | |

| Am I right that the lid is all in one piece GD, not divided into two seperate pieces. If it is then it is a similar set up to that on my tropical tank although not the same make - I got mine 2nd hand on ebay. It has a 'door' on the top at the front which gives access to th tank, and another door at the back that gives access to the filter I got myself an internal Fluval filter for it and dont use the in lid filter at all because when I wanted to do a water change it would have been pretty hard accessing the tank through the small gap at the front. I can now life the whole of the lid up when I do my weekly water changes and cleaning etc. | |

| right the gaps at the back of the hood are wide enough for all the external pipework the only problem i had was the long filter container that was supplied in the hood my husband had to cut out a small piece for the pipes to sit as the container was pushing against them and the back flap of the hood wouldnt sit down i would get an external filter as it is so much easier to clean i have just had one from ebay fof £45 it came from germany i wanted it for my 60 litre tank it didnt come with filter media but i went to my lfs and took one of the trays with me they thought it was an eihm but it doesnt have a name its working fine i have a rena xp3 on the jinlong but if it ever dies on me i will order on off this german firm on ebay | |

| also looking at your pictures, on the back of my hood the filter container comes out so that meant if you needed to clean your sponges you had to pull the whole thing out is yours able to come out or is it fixed? i still have the container in the hood otherwise there would be a huge gap at the back of the hood and to be honest getting it in and out during a tank change is a pain and its empty what it would be like full of wet sponges and fish gunk i dread to think i think you would be better off with an external filter | |

| thanks, what do you mean your husband had to cut out a small piece of the filter container? Do you mean of the back part to give enough room to put all the pipe? Any chance of a snap? even mobile phone will do | |
