| Oh he's beautiful K and that's a great photo. My first Betta - Cúchulainn - looked very similar to your one as you can see. | |

| ok guys thanks a lot! and although it was not really my intention, i actually managed to breed them successfully- no jokes
not sure about the number of fry... there's probably hundreds and they are so small that i can't even put a filter in the tank for another week! too difficult to photograph as well... the parent bettas are in separate jars now because they might actually eat up the fry if left in the same tank | |

| thats an easy thing to say, but not an easy thing to do, convincing my parents to let me have ONE tank was difficult enough. Sometimes i wish i had my own house... But i dont think thats possible at my age | |

| Just tell them that it is better for the fishes health k, and then pile it on about how they wouldn't want to be responsible for the fish getting ill or being unhappy would they, and also it is teaching you how to be a responsible fishkeeper. A little emotional blackmail can often do the trick | |

| my mom will most probably say: 1) give the fish to the fish store 2) put them all in the same tank 3) other rubbish things like "too many tanks don't look good" or "they won't die in jars so let them be there" emotional blackmail! i doubt that my mom has any emotions for fish. she threatened to flush away all the fry it won't work but maybe if i try continuously for a few days it may | |

| old post I know - but some pointers at least 3 females per male - so he can spread any aggression around (and no single female gets too bullied) Most the 'professional' betta breeders put the fry into either jam jars or cut down drinks bottles - and place these on heat mats designed for reptiles. With one fish per pot - you only need to change a small amount of water each day I dont noprmally have much luck with bettas - although my current group seem happy n healthy so fingers n fins crossed | |
