| Some of you may recall that I got a free Hatchetfish some months back... ... so today, I visited that LFS again in my eternal quest to find another Bolivian Ram. They only had Blue Rams, typical... ...but I did spot a trio of Zebra Loaches and I've been meaning to add more to the three foot tank but I haven't come across them in a while. So I asked Simon, the very nice LFS guy how much they were? €8 each... ...which I gawped at. So I cheekily asked what was the best price that he could give me the three of them for and he hummed and hawed and eventually said €15. Sold! Even better, there was just one male Blue Neon guppy (the exact same colouring as the pair I already have) on its own so he gave me that for just €2. I saved a tenner in all and the four fish are now in the Q tank for their month of quarantine... | |

| Cough - that's €2 - so about 1.75 in Sterling (sorry, pound sign doesn't work). What can I say? It must be my charm... | |

| Well it's said to never look a gift horse in the mouth and I guess this is one of those times as my bargain guppy died overnight. Oh well, I guess it was just a weak specimen to begin with and succumbed to the stress of being transferred from the LFS to the Q tank. The Zebra Loaches all seem to doing fine though. | |

| I dont think any of the livebearers are hardy tbh Rich - they all seem to die off quickly. | |

That's certainly been my experience with guppies as I've now had 8 in total and only 2 are still surviving. However, that pair of males has been going strong for almost a year so I might've lucked out with them. | |
