I asked a couple of weeks ago for an id on a fish that had somehow found itself into my tank. The working identity was a thick banded rasbora - I have now managed to get a couple of really bad photo's of it. It spends most of its time hiding in the undergrowth because it's the smallest fish in the tank.

Im going with munchy's id although it doesnt have the same amount of red on it it had at the beginning so I am not so sure now.

I will ppst a few more photo's when it has grown a bit more - it might be easier to tell then.

It's the shape of a neon tetra...i know it's not one but i'm sure it's somewhere along those lines now looking at it.
I'm stumped tbh. Can you ask at the LFS?

I think it looks like a Rasbora of sort, which one i got no idea.

Maybe its failing to colour up as its hiding away in the plants and timid?

Right - I reckon "Rasbora Elegans" I'm just wondering if the middle black spot comes with age/sex/hierarchy...?????

Check this out

(I still think it's neon shaped though)
