| Right guys how do i go on.as tomorrow Elvis leaves this building and moves into Gractank moving elvis to his bigger tank. i also don't think my net is big enough.;o( the tank is going where to old one is........... this is my solution????????????? kettle on for hot water bucket on the ready........... I have a big white plastic tub and a very small net now i will of course transfer about half the tank of water into it. i have a spare heater so will put this in but hoping this proceedure is only going to take about a hour so don't think he will need the airstone? Hoik Elvis in there then will put a cover over him as he might jump out....empty the rest of the tank putting the water in another big tub and buckets. dismantel put filter pad out of old pump into new one Fetch in other tank without dropping it place in washed new gravel. its already got heater and pump carefully add the water out of bucket ect plus new declor* water till about 3/4 way up. enough to cover heater plug in heater/filter. switch on check *stats* and temp. Hoik Elvis back in, add the water he's been in. sit back and Pray |

| sounds good chez, but I am just wondering - you have to dismantle the old tank and get the new one in situ and set up? That could take longer than you think, and in the meantime elvis is going to be in unfiltered water. Is there anyway you could have a filter running in the tub with him? That would make sure that the water in his tub stays ok, and will also keep the bacteria in your old filter alive during the process. The othetr thing is that you say you are putting new gravel in your new tank. There will be a lot of healthy bacteria in your old gravel that you will be losing. Is it possible to do a decent gravel vac of the old tank and soak the new gravel in some of the mucky stuff overnight and then put that in the new tank? Not sure if this is necessary tbh as have never had to swop over tanks so might be talking rubbish here (hopefully someone will come on and give a bit more info). Good luck | |

p.s i have bought a bigger net one you take kids fishing with to the canal. |

| It probably is easier to move house!! I presume you are emptying your old tank completely? When you take the old gravel out you will (I guess) still have some sediment etc left on the bottom of your old tank. If you do I would pour that into your new tank. Just keep a close eye on your water stats for a few days but I am sure all will be well and Elvis will be happy in his new pad | |

| OK Elvis is in the building 4pm its took ages to heat the tank up to near enough its still cloudy but im not bothered about that too much as its all the gunk from the other tank. hes having a l@@k round now. i have only got the dim spot lights on.so i can see him really and keep check on the temp... when its settled down will check all the stats........ he seems ok. he wasant happy in the tub at all, i think its because he couldn't see anything through it. |

| Hey well done chez, is Elvis ok?? Sounds like he has been through a bit of a trauma Poor little fella. You really need to get him a companion now to keep him company and make up for all this. A nice little shoal of something he can spend his time chasing around the tank | |

| What sort of filter does the tank have chez - in lid or external etc? Is the cloudiness coming from the gravel? If it is it should settle fairly quickly, otherwise I am not sure what could be causing it? Have you checked the stats? | |

| it is built in in the Jewel tank with the heater not checked stats yet but i think if it hasant cleared by morning i might change 50% i dont think its out of the gravel as i really washed it well and that would have settled by now i would think perhaps its a rubbish filter in these tanks? |
