| Well you know I had lost 1 Cherry barb, 2 Corys and 2 Tetras yesterday because of my leaking tank, it looks like a couple of the survivors aren't well. One of the Barbs and a Cory just dont look right. The barb is hanging round the bottom in a corner, and the Cory hasnt eaten today. I cant see any spots, marks etc so what do you think? Is there anything I can do to get them right?? | |

| Well that's a sod isn't it? First, are your water stats ok, and are the filter and heater working ok? It could be that the fish have been stressed by the lack of water/filtration etc and that might take its toll on them. I am wondering if the tank might go through a mini cycle, especially if the flow of water through the filter was poor. All I can suggest at the minute is to keep a close eye on the tank, make sure the water stats are ok and see how they go. Hopefully the fish will settle and recover. | |

| Hi Diana. Right the water stats are a bit off - Ammonia 0.5, no nitrite and Nitrate of 20 so I am doing water changes daily. The pump and the heater seem to be working ok now. Ive still got two fish that look "off" - the barb isnt as good a colour as normal, and the cory is just sluggish. Do you think its worth dosing the tank with some melafix as a bit of a preventative?? | |

| Hiya fishy, sorry things still arent right. I still wouldnt treat with anything, the water changes will do as good as anything, and once that is sorted the fish might pick up. Keep feeding down to a minimum to help control the ammonia, and change the water daily, as you are doing. Hope it settled quick. | |

| Aw, that's too bad, fishfan. I've lost three guppies in the last week to unknown causes. They were fine for months and then poof, dead. | |
