Have any of you got shrimp. I have seen some in the lfs that I would like to get, either Amano or cherry, but wonder if they impact on the inch rule for the tank? Do they add a lot to the work of the filter? Also are they hard to look after?

Thanks everyone Very Happy

Hiya David. I dont have any shrimp, but from what I have heard they are easy too look after - they just scavenge on things in the tank, and dont add anything much to the filters load. I hope someone else will be able to confirm that though Very Happy

Yes, I have lots of Amano shrimp in various tanks. They're a great addition to any community, David. They help keep the tank clean and are also quite entertaining to watch, especially at feeding time when they steal the fish food.

I can recommend Cherry Shrimp too. Quite small, but a lovely colour and quite active in the tank - when you can see them.

Id just like to re-iterate what Mary said, I have had amano before and they were fantastic little things, so happy and busy all the time.

Lovely to watch.
