I'm sorry about this, but, I have washed all the gravel, and have got the filter sorted again - I just needed to reprime it (sounds as if I know what I'm talking about doesnt it!).
I want to start putting the ammonia in but is it best to do it at night or in the morning? Also, how much do I add about? Does it take a lot to bring the level up or just a bit?

Hiya elj, I'm not an expert but might be able to give you a bit of info on this. you can put the ammonia in whenever you want - hve you read the information on here about the fishless cycle?
Just put a bit of ammonia in at a time - say a teaspoonful and then check the water readings, just keep adding a bit at a time and rechecking the water.
You just do that once every 24hours.
dont forget to turn the heater up too.
