Want more fish Empty
PostSubject: Want more fish   Want more fish Icon_minitimeSun Feb 24, 2008 4:15 am

Well, touching all the wood I can get my hands on, I think my tank is ready for a few more fish. Anyone any ideas about what I should get - tank and current fish in my siggy. I'd like soem peaceful fish, that will get on with the others, perhaps some bottomdwellers too.

Thanks

How about a trio of Pearl Gouramis? They're a beautiful, peaceful fish and you just need a minimum of 1M to 2F to keep them happy. Smile

Well that's a female as you can see she has a short dorsal fin and pale throat. As you can see below, the male has a much longer dorsal fin and orange throat and when fully grown as this one is, it has lovely filamentous extensions from the anal fin. Smile

Yes kribs would be my suggestion too. As long as they have a cave or 2 to retreat to, you wont have any aggression issues

And an Angelfish. Wink

But I only added them towards the end of my tank stocking - I wouldn't consider Rams suitable for a newly setup tank as they're sensitive to water chemistry. Smile

These grow up to about 5" apparently, so I am not sure if I have enough space - have a look at my sig and let me know what you think?

The link says they need to be kept in 55 gallon so I think my tank is too small?

Any other suggestions? Very Happy

I reckon so - the fish you have in there atm are quite small so I think you'd have the room for the Pearl Gouramis plus a BN if you want one. But that would probably be it then. Smile
