Hiya wave

Ive been noticing over the past few weeks that I have got what I think is algae on the wood in my tank. It looks like patches of thick green velvet.

Now I know that BN's are supposed to eat algae but mine doesn't seem to be doing much with this stuff and am wondering if I should scrub it off or leave it. Would it stop the plec from being able to eat the wood eventually if I leave it alone and it spreads?

Ive got this on my bogwood too tardis and dont think it's anything to worry about. I suppose eventually if it did take over the wood then a new piece of wood would be needed, but till then dont worry.
