New Cherry barb and friends

He was really pale when I got him - you couldnt tell the difference between the boys and girls, they were all so pale. Now thogh they look so much better - it's good to see!

Very nice, Diana. I have only two cherry barbs left out of my original four. I won't be replacing them though - I think they're too small for the 165L tank but I might consider them for the 90L tank in the future.

They're not too small - you just get more of them

I have 10 cherry barbs in my 185 and they are beautiful little nasty beasties, especially the contrast of the males red and female brown, but even close up, the 'dul brown' hve amazing markings

Dont understate the Cherry barb 'newb fish' they may be but are still among my favourites and they get along with everything and are quite good for browsing green hair algae

I must say I like Checkered barbs too

I'd say they look lovely in a large shoal Rich but I just don't have the room for them. Plus it's very hard to sex the juveniles which is how I ended up with four males... :lol:

I lke that red fish - is that the cherry barb? You can see hw it gets its name! Another one to add to my really loooooong list of fish I want to get!

Thats the male motsy, the female is a duller brown

I like that pic of the harlies. I saw loads of them in the lfs the other day and was so tempted to do a bit of buying but OH stopped me

Just say the tank needs more 'balance' & they are needed to elp the other fish settle well
