I have noticed on the front and side of my betta/plec tank there is an outbreak of some sort of weird lifeform!

All in all there are about 40 of them, varying in size from pinprick size to approx 2mm.

They seem to be inside a clear jelly sac, white/creamy colour and the bigger ones of wh atever they are can be seen to be moving inside the sac.

They are not in groups, but individually attached to the glass. I dont think they are snails because I have had snails before and this is nothing like that.

Any ideas what they are and what I do to get rid of them?? WEIRD CREATURES 553110 WEIRD CREATURES Confused WEIRD CREATURES 876616

have you tried looking on the tinterweb for 'aquarium parasites' and similar searches?

If you dont like the look of them, and they are on the glass, then use a razor to remove them and bin them (not down the loo or sink - but the bin)

Other than that - you could try an invert killing med just to be sure they are not also on your fish.

Another place to try is asking a university - like plymouth or bangor - or any that deal with fish as part of there course list.

Im sure the answer is out there somewhere - but personally - id rather kill first and ask questions later to protect the fish, and possibly you (you dont want a strange bug burrowing into your skin do you?)

Sounds a bit gross Diana, did you manage to get rid of them?
