As you say, it is thought provoking. I know there are quotas etc put on fishing boats as to how many fish they can catch but that does little to preserve stocks. The huge nets used by some boats just scoop up any living thing in their way and often the fishermen end up throwing dead fish back into the sea because they are not allowed to keep or sell them.

It's a mad system that is doing no good - either for man or fish.

Last I heard they were gonna end this rediculous system

here is another mad thing - by law - pet food cannot have ingredients that are not fit for human consumption - so the likes of cat food and dog food use up more than 75% of fish caught

Not only that - but the humans food cost is subsidising the pet food (ever noticed how human food goes up in price much faster than pet food)

In europe - much of these insane rules are the creation of - well, guess who

It seems jo public cant do right for doing wrong - next thing is we'll be getting veggie quotas or something but politics are banned here (and we cant have mary getting stroppy can we Very Happy)

I remember seeing a programme some years ago about dog food. They had a team of people whose job was to taste the various foods they made to make sure that it was palatable enough!

I suppose if you got a bit skint you could always go and buy a tin of Pedigree lamb and veg with gravy couldn't you.

weird isnt it that conspiracy and doom laden theorists have probably got sheds and bunkers filled with tinned meaty dog food, and my dog has boxes of vegan dog food in the cupboard (because of his various allergies)
