| Your tank is looking great chez, and the fish look happy Where is the big shrimpy thing - I didnt see that in your photo's. By the way, you know you were saying that some of the live rock might have some nasties in it? Is it adviseable to q stuff like new rock, anemone's etc to see what wriggles out or is that not generally done? | |

| Here's a Nastie Diane APTASIA they can grow on your live rock.its a plant. you have to remove them, there's some liquid killer you can buy or use tweezers. horace has claimed the cave at the back you can see his long bits hanging out the hole in the cave...lol |

| Looking good, chez. Are you planning to buy any more live rock, to build up the collection? I always think it looks great when there's a big pile of rock piled high in marine aquariums - more room for attaching corals too! | |

Thanks chez, nice to know where Horace is Sorry to ask again about this, but I find it all so interesting. What I meant about the nasties was, you know when you buy a new piece of live rock or anemone, is it worth keeping them in a q tank or bucket whatever, so that you can wait and see if anything crawls out of it that you don't want, or is the marine set up so complicated that putting new livestock, rocks etc in q just isn't feasible? | |

| Chez hope you dont mind if I jump in to answer Diana's Question. I love the creepy crawly's in the marine tanks. Aptasia is one thing on the live rock but you are correct there are also some other nasties which can live in the rocks and only coming out at night (or a red light can be used once tank light go out and to see whatelse is wriggling in the live rock) Some nasties include flat/bristle worms (most are ok but they can grow absolutely HUGEEEEEE) also certin types of crabs (im crap with names, gorilla or teddy bear crab which eats corals) his picture looks ace lol http://www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=41995also mantis shrimps can come in big pieces oflive rock, these aint so bad for nanos as you shouldnt have huge piecs however worthwhile knowing what to look for.. http://www.ultimatereef.net/forums/showthread.php?t=298401&highlight=mantis+shrimpIf you see something your unsure off Chez try n get a snap and ill help see if we can figure out what they are. I may be getting my marine tank today, if no one outbids me Your tanks coming along lovely Chez. Quarentine works just how it works in tropical fishkeeping, it is advised to do so for adding new fish, however for marine it becomes very expensive due to running and maintaining two tanks, however as for the rock you need to becareful when adding as it can set off a mini cycle depending on the rock die off. This usually wouldnt happen, however it does depend on the amount of rock adding. lastly, then ill shut up, I have never known corals etc to be quarentined. That Duncan Coral is also known as Torch Coral, I believe these can sting slightly but depends on size. (I just read that now bristleworms are good for your tanks as they used to be recognised as a menace but peoples opinions have changed) | |

| Thanks Dave jump in all you want. if it helps others thinking of starting up a Marine tank well thats what we are here for. The live rock i got is from figi indonesia, and is already cured..... I got up this morning and Horace has shed his shell, (took his coat off.lol) I thought he was dead but then realised he was in the cave upside down..lol he's looking a lot cleaner now. The clowns rub themself's in the mushroom/toadstool coral and in the duncan coral. The one they host (feed) is Anemone, the pinky bubble one, now if they don't host this the coral can turn on them and sting them. so I wont be getting one of them. I am going to have a look around some aqua shops today I want some leather finger corals, and another Duncan, I am not getting anymore live rock, I have enough in here. and with what i have its funny shapes, and i can't seem to get the hight i want, i dont want to touch the sides of the tank as this will make it awkward for cleaning, so i think i will just leave it as it is for now. |

| I haven't, I'm afraid, GD. I've only bought about six things off ebay and I think the most expensive was about €20 so I'm not sure what their "change of mind" policy is. | |

| He cant pull out Dave I have 2354 feedback, The only time you can pull out is if item is lost or broken.... I bet it didn't go to what he wanted, not your problem he should have put a reserve on. Report to ebay......... Email seller tell them what you are doing.... Don't pay yet.......... |

| That sounds a bit of a feeble excuse doesn't it? Have you told him you are reporting him to ebay? Dont know if they will be able to do anything - they can hardly force him to hand stuff over - but at least it will be looked at. Guess you will just have to keep looking GD - you never know, a better one might turn up | |
