| Every so often, I like to go for a mooch around an LFS, not necessarily to buy anything (yeah, right!) but just to check out the fish stock. Today, I was in one that I hadn't visited for ages and noticed that, in a tank full of Silver Hatchetfish, there was one solitary Marble Hatchetfish - of which I already have three (originally four but one vanished.) So I was explaining this to Simon, the Polish fish guy that I know fairly well and asked him how much for the single Marble Hatchetfish. He bagged it up, handed it to me, saying "No charge - I know you'll give it a good home!"

| I know! Very pleased with myself. Of course there was a heartstopping moment as I was transferring him to the Q tank as they're not called "flying fish" for nothing. Luckily, all went well and he's now settling in there. | |
