another has a Oscar and I was shocked to read this>

I Have a Oscar hes 12inch Long by about 6 inch deep
I Have had him 2 yrs and he lives on pellets,
bloodworm.mussles,prawns.
And hes very healthy
theres is plenty of food in the l.f.s
for them to eat without feeding live fish.

If we bring these creatures into our homes
then it is the decent thing to replicate their natural enviroment
as closely as we can. Its only fair.

Why Don't people read up about things before buying them.

It used to sicken me when I'd read about people throwing live fish into turtle tanks just for the "sport" of watching them being chased and killed...

I'm afraid this isn't unusual chez. There are loads of vids on YouTube showing live fish being fed to Oscars.

I know people use the argument about recreating their natural environment, but lets face it, swimming up and down in a tank isn't their natural environment is it so if they are that bothered about things like that they shouldn't be keeping fish at all.

As you say, there are lots or really well balanced proprietary foods, as well as the other stuff you feed your fella, and he is hardly wasting away is he?

I think half the time the people who do this get some sort of kick from seeing something being hunted and killed, which is a bit sick really.
