A Bit of a Panic.!!!!!!!!

all sorted now.!!!
got up saturday and as you do check and count fish..
yep 1 there.lol
look at temp on strip on tank. 81......
looked at the glass on inside about nearly to the top of the green.
so i turned the heater down as you do very slight....
then i sat hours and hours waiting and one eye on the tank the other on my knitting.lol
now i know the stick on strip has never been accurate.so i go on the glass one inside.
my heater for some strange reason has been working fine,but the little orange light has never come on while i have been sat in the room. i thought this strange but the temp has been ok.
I got up sunday morning and checked temp. 68.. oh my lord..
inside wasant much higher.i turned the heater switch and the light came on.
panick set in so off to L.F.S and bought a new heater £17 200w
its the type you set to what temp you want and thats it.
now i can get back to my knitting with both eyes on it.lol
poor Elvis nearly boiled then frozen....

Well I've had three heaters fail on me in the last couple of years. One got stuck on.......one wouldn't come on at all......and one failed completely and the temp was only 14C before I noticed and alas, poor guppies died.

Call me paranoid but every morning, I now check that both the filters and the heaters are working in all the tanks.
