She is still big and hasnt had any more fry since then and today she is just sitting on the bottom of the tank in the corner. She hasnt had anything to eat today ans I dont think she is well - or is she just going to have more fry?? Anyone help at all?? |

Anyone help at all?? charley have you done water tests in case you have poor water, that's the first thing to check. Are all the other fish ok? Are there any spots, lumps, cuts etc on her? It could be that she is getting ready to have more fry but it sounds a bit more serious to me. Let us have a bit more info if you can and keep an eye on her for now.

| Diana, all the other fish seem to be ok. I have checked the water and it is ok, 0-0-20. Phishy, this might sound daft but how would I know if she was just constipated? She has a swollen belly and I am thinking she is still pregnant, but could it be swollen because of constipation? Should I just give her some peas anyway to see? |

Well it certainly won't do it any harm so give them a shot, I'd say.

| Yeah, what Mary said! You can feed fish cucumber, courgette, prawns and peas etc as a variety in their diet anyway, it will do no harm | |

| My platty has died. She had a couple more babies but I have just found her floating in the tank. I thought something was wrong and she hasnt been right for few days, but I feel sorry about it, especially as her babies are swimming around in the spare tank. |

| Sorry to hear that, some fish just arent cut up to give birth. It stresses them too much, was she kept in a breeding net/box? | |
