cycle - Mini Cycle Empty
PostSubject: Mini Cycle   cycle - Mini Cycle Icon_minitimeThu Jan 31, 2008 10:54 pm

Have tested the water again this morning and there is still some ammonia and nitrite so I have done a big water change.

How long do mini cycles usually last - I suppose it depends on how long the electric was off for, but I gues that as the ammonia was only .25 and not any higher it couldn't have been off for that long, or doesnt that indicate anything?

im just wondering if these readings could get worse before it all clears up?

I would think a week should see it getting back to normal. I'd stick with daily water changes while you have any ammonia/nitrItes.
Without water changes there's every chance they could increase so just monitor closely, as you are Smile

Ok, thanks for that MC. fortunately it's not a high level so i think changes just once a day should be ok, and i'll just keep checking it
