Well, I dont think I escaped after the power cut after all. Came home tonight and a couple of the fish looked a bit off, tested the water and the ammonia was .25 so i think i might be having a mini cycle.

other than water changes is there anything else i should do?

If it's a mini-cycle, driver, it'll probably only last a couple of days so just do daily water changes to get through it. However, if the nitrite level goes over 1ppm, then I'd add some dissolved salt also (half a teaspoon per 45L) after the water change. Smile
