Hiya you lot. I dont know if I have a problem with one of my fish.

One of the cichlids just is staying at the back of the tank and not moving much. The rest of them seem ok. He/she hasnt had a swim round for a while now, but it is still alive because I can see its fins moving.

Is it just getting used to things or do I have a sick fish and if so what should I do?

motsy, have you checked yoiur water stats - are they 0-0 and the nitrate less than 40?

Does the fish have any signs of disease on it - lumps, bumps, spots etc, is it swimming at all or just still all the time? Is it eating?

Sorry for all the questions but it might help someone find an answer for you.

Well as Fishfan suggests, the first thing to do is check the water stats. and then observe the fish to see if it swims/eats. If the out-of-character behaviour continues, it could be a sign that something is wrong alright.
