| The guppy in the BiOrb has a small gash on its side which has now developed a fungal-like fluffy coating. I'd been treating it with Melafix & Pimafix but I've now decided to add some Myxazin to help speed up the healing process. On the bottle it says not to mix it with other meds. but I'm assuming that excludes Melafix & Pimafix as they're "natural extracts". What do you think? | |

| When did you last add any Melafix Mary? It might be worth doing a decent size water change before starting the new med just in case. The curse of the Orb strikes again! | |

| Yep. And the heater in it stopped working overnight. The poor guppy was looking a bit miserable and I noticed the temp was only 18C. So out came the emergency heater and he's now at a far more comfortable 26C. The heater is miles too big for the BiOrb though so I've just ordered a new one from Aquatics Online. Re: the meds. Well I liken it to mixing a prescribed antibiotic with a homeopathic treatment so I don't think it'll do any harm to have a double whammy! But then again, it might be a lot to assault the poor little fish with. I just added the Melafix & Pimafix this morning after I'd already done the water change. Didn't like the look of the sore spot which is why I added the Myxazin also. I might just continue with that for the time being and forget about the other ones. | |

Will do. He now has a swollen abdomen and is not looking the Mae West. I can't help feeling that the cold temperature overnight did nothing to help the poor fellow. Diana, I think he might've cut himself on one of the ceramic stones as one got dislodged during last week's water change and I forgot to reposition it... | |
