| I've only used Fluval internal filters pixie and haven't found any problems with them tbh. They're efficient, just have a sponge or two inside them that you wash about once a month, and an easy accessed impellor. They're quiet and depending on the type, they have an easy to see coloured button which retracts when there is any sort of blockage. I am employed by them as a Sales person........no I'm not, only joking, but thy are ok Just read your post again and think my sales pitch might have been a waste of time Do you mean you want to get external filters?? | |

| I can recommend the Eheim Aquaballs. Here They are very good and have 360 degree suction! They were also voted internal of the year by PFK! (thats my sales pitch)

| And my sales pitch is for Aqua One internal filters... Although, if you are after an external filter, Pixie, I know that the Tetratec ones have a great reputation and are very reasonably priced also. | |

| Well you'd be surprised at how little room an external filter takes up. They usually fit quite snuggly in the tank cabinet - that is of course, if you have one. | |

| I guess you'll have to find another cupboard to store all the crap then, Pixie. If it's any consolation, my fish cupboard only has fishy stuff on one side, the other side has been claimed by the OH for his cycling bit'n'bobs... | |
