I have decided that I want to have some sort of bubbling in my tank - added the first lot of ammonia today by the way, should be cycled by Wednesday Rolling Eyes , but it's got to be a quiet motor because the tank is in the living room.

Which ones have you all got and would you recommend them as being really ultra, silent?

I have Eheim Air pumps on my tanks and I've always found them to be very quiet. I have mine sitting on a piece of aeroboard which helps to muffle vibrations. It's important to buy a check valve also as this prevents a backward flow of water should the pump ever fail - the reverse suction would drain your tank... affraid

I'd recommend having a look at the Hydor Ario air pumps. They're not really a pump at all. more an impellor connected to an air tube, and I find them really good. My tank is in the living room too and I dont find it noisy at all.

I have the tetratec APS 150 (i think it's called) it's very quiet & has rubber feet so it doesn't vibrate Very Happy

I got the Hydor one, it's great because it has a coloured light with it - you have a choice of green blue and red I think - I got blue and it looks great at night when I turn the main tank lights off.

I've seen those Charley, and was thining of getting one for the goldie tank.

Can you post a pic of what yours is like with the light on - it would be good to see one in use, and how colourful they are?
