PostSubject: Juwel Tanks   Juwel Tanks Icon_minitimeMon Jul 14, 2008 4:35 am

Im just curious as to how easy it is to remove the internal box filter? reason I ask is that i got a SUPER cheap tetratec EX600 for £20 BRAND NEW!!!

Id now like to use on my Shell tank and remove the filter. Any ideas? I believe it is held on with 4-5 blobs of silicone.

Im still not back home yet so dreading the state of my tanks due to a few issues which cropped up whilst up north.

They are easy to remove GD, i used a bread knife & sliced thru the silicone. Just be prepared for a lot of gunk to spread everywhere & check your new heater works before you start (like we didnt)

I want an EX600 for £20 too Crying or Very sad

Right the time is upon me to start the task of removing the filter...Should I remove all the fish and drain 90% of the water off?

Surely I can just leave them in a bucket for a few hours without filtration or heating?

what gunk are you speaking of? from the filter or from the Silicone?

Remember the filter and tank has only been set up for a month/2 max!

Whats wrong GD?
I left fish & water in when i did mine. The gunk i meant that gets trapped behind the filter box but as you say - yours is quite new so probably not an issue
